And Argentinian journalist Fernando Czyz has said Argentina have left him out of the squad with Fifa making a judgement soon.

Assistant refs Marcelo van Gasse and Dewson Silva bore the brunt of Messi’s frustrations but the striker could now face a ban between two and four games.

The incident was left out the referee’s report after the game but was sent on later as an add on.

Argentina Football Association vice-president Armando Perez said: “If he behaved out of place, then he should be penalised like any other player.
