Ghana President to bid farewell to supporters in country tour

Ghanaian President John Mahama is expected to start a nationwide tour 20th of December to bid farewell to his supporters after losing to opposition contender Nana Akufo-Addo in 2016 general elections.

President Mahama will conclude his tour in 30th December, after meeting with traditional and religious leaders, regional and constituency executives of his political party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), according to a report by citi fm.

President Mahama became the first incumbent to lose a re-election bid.

Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) has appointed Mahama to co-chair The Gambia mediation process with Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari. The two leaders are taxed with convincing Yahya Jammeh to accept defeat in Gambia’s presidential elections in December according to my joy online. Jammeh who has ruled Gambia for 22 years lost to the leader of the opposition coalition, Adama Barrow.

Mr Mahama who has been commended by ECOWAS for his exemplary leadership, called on his colleagues in the sub-region to honour the investiture of Ghana’s incoming President on January 7.
