Keep off Caster Semenya – South Africans warn ahead of women’s 800 meters #Rio2016Olympics showdown

South Africans on social media have moved to defend 800 meters runner Caster Semenya following talks by foreign media that she should not be allowed to participate in the Rio Games.

Semenya was made to undergo gender testing after winning gold nat the 2009 World Championships in Berlin, but was cleared to compete in 2010 after being sidelined for 11 months while the tests were carried out.

Using the Twitter hashtag #HandsOffCaster, South Africans have shown their support for their athlete who is tipped to win another gold medal for the country in the upcoming women’s 800 meters race.
