Ugandan Minister For Health Disguises As Patient To Hospital, Arrests Doctors Over Bribery

Ugandan State Minister for Health, Sarah Opendi, has devised a new skill of capturing corrupt medical officers.

Earlier yesterday, the minister disguised at a patient and stormed Naguru Hospital to check out the responsiveness of medics at the facility.

Opendi arrived at the hospital at 10am, dressed in muslim attire covering her face; she wanted to take a test for hepatitis B. Shockingly, she was asked for a bribe of shs5,000 at the reception in order to see a doctor, which she willingly paid.

Unfortunately, the doctor, whom she was recommended to, also asked for shs100,000 to conduct the test. After paying, police covered up the place and arrested the two corrupt medical officers. Naguru is a public Hospital where treatment is supposed to be for free.

  1. Impressive Honourable Minister, if all our leaders would leave their chairs and touch down and fell what the ordinary citizens felling things would done well. Minister of the year. She deserve an award.

  2. Thumb up madam minister, you have experienced it yourself. Go back to your drawing board and check if people are being under paid or not. Do you motivate the civil servants?

  3. You are very correct. I do not support corruption but sometimes the vulnerable situations in public service push them to being corrupt due to low wages. If government should improve on wages we can have better services as well, but exploiting those who don’t even have is bad, period.
