Alarming video has been made public showing two armed men making death threats. The men can be seen sitting in a car while brandishing and cocking an AK-47, which is illegal in South Africa.
eNCA reports that the two men are, in fact, bodyguards of ANC eThekwini Regional Secretary, Bheki Ntuli. It is not known when the video was filmed.
With political killings on the rise in KwaZulu-Natal, the video is a particularly worrying sight, especially when you consider that AK-47’s have been used in many of the assassinations. ANC officials in KZN have been shown the video and promised to investigate.
While no one has been prosecuted for the killings yet, over 60 people were recently arrested in connection with the political murders in the province.
The latest victim of such attacks was former ANC Youth League secretary-general Sindiso Magaqa, who died on Monday after succumbing to injuries he sustained after being shot in July.
